A Healthy Start
Your health is important and there’s no better time to start developing good oral health habits than when you are young. Let us help your kids explore and learn how their oral health helps keep their overall bodies healthy.
Your child’s dental appointments will be comfortable, positive and fun. We use kid-friendly terms to explain everything before we do it to make sure your child (and you) feel prepared. We also make every effort possible to schedule all of your family at the same time to save you time and multiple visits.

- Screening for Sleep Disordered Breathing/Airway Concerns – If your child is exhibiting ADHD-like symptoms – or has ever been diagnosed with ADHD – it’s worth considering whether interrupted sleep might be an issue. It makes perfect sense when you think about it: A well-rested individual can function a lot better on a good night’s sleep.
Other Signs
- Open mouth posture
- Mouth breathing
- Snoring – this is not normal, kids should not snore!
- Crooked teeth
- Teeth grinding
- Bed wetting
- Daytime sleepiness
- Dark circles under eyes
If your child has one of these signs and you suspect it’s affecting their performance at school, they may be suffering from a breathing related sleep disorder.
When should I first bring my child to see you?
We like to follow the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry’s recommendation to see a dentist by the age of one. This early visit gives you a chance to learn about what you should be expecting over the next couple of years during your child’s dental journey and answer any questions you may have. We will take a look at your child’s teeth and gums to make sure everything looks great and discuss how you can help get them off to a healthy start!
