Dental Cleanings (Adults and Children)
One simple thing you can do to ensure your overall health is to take proper care of your teeth and gums on a daily basis by brushing and flossing. Every six months, or sometimes more often, cleanings should be performed by your dentist or hygienist to prevent excessive plaque buildup. Plaque and/or calculus (tartar) can accumulate below the gumline and lead to unhealthy gums (gingivitis). If left untreated, gingivitis can lead to bone loss (periodontal disease) and eventually tooth loss.
As part of your cleaning appointment, we will perform an oral cancer screening, nutritional counseling, review homecare instructions to assist in making your daily brushing and flossing routine as simple as possible.
